How to Play Craps
The Game
Craps is a game where players win by correctly predicting the roll of a pair of dice. There are a variety of betting combinations available in Craps, with the exception of the hardways bets, the game of Craps only considers the total of the two dice.
Note - For Macintosh users, when you are instructed to click with the right mouse button, click the mouse button while holding down the command key beside the space bar.
Starting the Game
To play Craps, click on the Craps table in the Casino Lobby, or choose a game from the Craps menu. The games differ by the bet ranges for each table.
Game Display
The game display consists of table with bettings fields to place your bets. The Craps display also consists of the following:
| Bet |
Displays the bet value of each chip. Click the buttons on the left of Bet to decrease the bet size. Click the buttons on the right Bet to increase the bet size. |
| Roll |
Click the button to roll the dice, after placing all of your bets. |
| Collect |
Click the button to collect any winnings after the dice roll. |
| Off |
Displays the status of the come out roll. Off appears if the current roll is a come out roll. Bets on the table are not active during a come out roll. |
| Betting Range |
Displays the minimum and maximum bets allowed in the game. |
| Total Bet |
Displays the total amount wagered of all bets on the table. |
| Credits |
Displays your current credit amount. |
| Lobby |
Click the button to exit the game and return to the Casino Lobby. |
Placing a Bet
To place a bet, click on the specific bet with the left mouse button. A chip appears on the bet, with the bet amount for that bet. The default bet amount appears in the Bet area. You can change each individual bet. Click with the left mouse button on the chip to increase the bet. Click with the right mouse button to decrease a bet. You will be prompted in the status area of your browser to press the 'Y' key on the keyboard to confirm the action when it is to your disadvantage to reduce a bet. Pressing 'N' or another key on the keyboard or performing another action with the mouse will leave the bet unchanged. The total of all your bets is displayed in Total Bet.
Useful information about each bet is displayed on the status line at the bottom of your browser window as the cursor passes over the various betting areas of the table. Some bets may not be available for a particular roll, the game will not allow you to place an unavilable bet.
The following types of bets are available in the game:
| The Pass Bet |
This is a bet that the shooter will throw a 7 or 11 on the come out roll (shooters first roll of a turn) or, alternatively, that the shooter will make the point (roll his number BEFORE rolling a seven). |
| The Don't Pass Bet |
This is the opposite of the pass bet. This bet is placed against the shooter and wins if Craps (2,3 or 12) is thrown on the come out roll or if the shooter fails to make the point. If a 12 is thrown, the bet ties. |
| The Come Bet |
This is a bet that the shooter will throw a 7 or 11 on the next roll or, alternatively, that the shooter will roll the next rolled number again BEFORE rolling a seven. |
| The Don't Come Bet |
Again, this bet is similar to the don't pass bet, but need not be made on the come out roll. |
| Odds Bet |
This is an additional bet made on a pass, don't pass, come or don't come bet that has already been placed. Odds bets can only after the point has been established. The advantage of an odds bet is that it is paid out at the correct odds. |
| Win Bet |
This bet can be made on the following numbers: 4,5,6,8,9,10. It is a bet that the relevant number will be thrown BEFORE a seven. |
| Lose Bet |
This bet can be made on the following numbers: 4,5,6,8,9,10. It is a bet that a seven will be thrown BEFORE the relevant number. |
| Field Bet |
This is a bet on the outcome of the next throw. It pays even money if a 3,4,9,10 or 11 is thrown and 2-1 if a 2 or 12 is thrown. |
| Hardway Bet |
This bet can be made on 4,6,8 or 10. It is a bet that the relevant number will be thrown in its double form BEFORE a seven AND before that number is thrown in any other combination. The payouts are 7 to 1, 9 to 1, 9 to 1, and 7 to 1, respectively. |
| Any Seven |
This is a bet on the outcome of the next throw. It pays 4 to 1 if a seven is rolled on the next throw. |
| Any Craps |
This is a bet on the outcome of the next throw. It pays 7 to 1 if a 2, 3 or 12 is rolled on the next throw. |
| Craps Two |
This is a bet on the outcome of the next throw. It pays 30 to 1 if a 2 is rolled on the next throw. |
| Craps Three |
This is a bet on the outcome of the next throw. It pays 15 to 1 if a 3 is rolled on the next throw. |
| Craps Twelve |
This is a bet on the outcome of the next throw. It pays 30 to 1 if a 12 is rolled on the next throw. |
| Eleven |
This is a bet on the outcome of the next throw. It pays 15 to 1 if an 11 is rolled on the next throw. |
| Horn |
This is a single roll bet on any Craps (2,3 or 12) and 11. Odds are paid out accordingly. |
Playing the Game
After placing your bets on the table the Roll button is highlighted Click Roll or on the dice to roll the dice. The dice are thrown from the right to left side of the game display. When the dice have come to rest, they are dragged to the bottom-left of the game display. The results of the last roll appear in the upper-right corner of the game display. Winnings are placed as yellow chips next to winning bets. Losing bets are removed from the table. Click Collect to remove your winnings from the table.
When a point is established, the chips on the Come or Don't Come lines are moved to the appropriate positions below or above the point number.
Exiting the Game
Click on Lobby to exit the game and return to the Casino Lobby. Remove all bets from the table until they are reduced to zero. Bets which cannot be reduced must be played out by repeatedly rolling the dice. You can exit the game when all bets have been cleared from the table. |
